On September 17th, the Massachusetts Affordable Housing Alliance will host the first of four North Shore Regional Housing Forums that will include tours of affordable housing developments on Cape Ann. The first meeting will focus on land use and planning.
If you’re interested in learning more about housing and development in the greater Gloucester area, this meeting is for you. Tours will offer an up close view of regional developments that have put Community Protection Act (CPA) funding to good use.
The Community Preservation Coalition assists Massachusetts communities in adopting the CPA to ensure that growth and development occur in a sustainable way while maintaining the unique character of Commonwealth cities and towns. Each tour will provide information on how projects were funded through the CPA.
Tours begin at 5 p.m. at The Rockport High School Apartments in Rockport and the Haven Terrace Ownership Units in Gloucester. At 6:30 p.m. the group will meet at the Rose Baker Senior Center and hear talks from Mickey Northcutt from the North Shore Community Development Coalition and Karina Milchman from the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC.)
Pizza and drinks will be served.
Upcoming meetings and tours will be held on October 15th, November 19th and December 17th.
